The Lethe Elixir Now Available!
Writing Elise and Seanian’s was another fun adventure. I got to explore Damensea outside of Calatini, and writing characters with their (mostly) HEA at the start then shattering it and healing it to be even stronger was a puzzle that I thoroughly enjoyed. Weaving in elements of Sleeping Beauty (and some from The Little Mermaid) were fun too. And their interactions with their teenage ward were great, especially when they embarrass him with their constant kissing. Plus, I loved adding all the details about horses and horse-like magical creatures. I hope you enjoy Elise and Seanian’s story as much as I do!

A few short hours later, Elise froze while changing for dinner, agony swamping her. She’d not need Healer Althea’s fertility-divining charm tomorrow. Her courses had begun. No tiny life had taken root inside her. Not even the inherent holy magic of Summerday had been enough to help her conceive. Just like always. She burst into tears.
After dismissing Ann and Jebb, Seanian gathered her into his arms and pressed a tender kiss against her brow, his beard caressing her skin. “What is it, my love?”
Burying her face against Seanian’s neck, she inhaled his scent to comfort herself. She murmured against him, “My courses. After Summerday, I so hoped…” She began to sob in earnest.
His arms tightening about her, Seanian sat on the bed with her curled in his lap. As she sobbed, he rocked her and rubbed her back and brushed kisses against her brow.
