Playing cards originated during the Age of Magic as a divination technique, and they are still used for that to this day. Cards originally were brown with black ink and only had twenty-two cards. Over the centuries, playing card decks multiplied into three arcana: black, white, and red.


Types of Card Games

With the three arcana, many card games have been developed, and new variations are forever appearing (see list below.)

  • Trick Taking
  • Outplaying
  • Adding
  • Fishing
  • Matching
  • Exchanging
  • Showdown
  • Banking
  • Role Playing
  • Patience

Card Emblem Numbers

Each card in an arcana has emblematic picture and are numbered 0 through 21 (see list below.)

  9. Strength
  10. The Hermit
  11. Wheel of Fortune
